The final case for Clinton: there is no Planet B.

In 1972, the last mission of NASA’s Apollo program left Earth for the moon. On that trip, the crew of Apollo 17 took one of the most iconic and reproduced images in the history of the earth. Entitled The Blue Marble, it gave us a view of the earth never seen before from space – a view of this beautiful blue marble full of life, alone in our solar system, as a home for humanity.

Forty-four years later, the world, as we know it, hangs in the balance. The earth is heating up; seal levels are rising; communities are being destroyed, and pollution is getting worse. However, there is no Plan-et B. We’ve got to take care of the one we’ve got and that’s why this election is more critical than ever before.

Under the leadership of President Obama, we’ve successfully concluded an historic international climate accord through which all nations united as one. A turning point for humanity, and for the first time in history, the global community agreed to action that puts us on a path to prevent the worst consequences of the climate crisis while embracing the opportunity to exponentially grow our global clean energy economy. The most crucial part is that the the world set an expiration date on fossil fuels, and countries and the marketplace are already acting on it.

Now, that decision faces a threat. As we stand at a fork in the road, the choice could not be clearer. Hillary Clinton will continue our progress down the path of elevating climate action and boosting the clean energy economy powered by solar, wind, electric vehicles and more. Climate-denier Donald Trump, in stark contrast, has said he will “cancel” the Paris climate agreement, do everything he can to promote fossil fuels, and risk cooking the planet.

We simply can’t afford for that to happen. That’s why Sierra Club is doing everything we can to stop Trump from ever entering the White House.

We hope you’ll join us and be a #ClimateVoter for Hillary Clinton and climate champions up and down the ballot this November 8th -- because nothing less than the future of this beautiful, blue marble that we call home is at stake.
